Early Music @ 1 - Wednesday 29th April
While yesterday's video focused on dances during the Renaissance period, today we get to watch some wonderful polyphonic pieces performed by Fiona Kizzie Lee and her La Fiamma colleagues Amy Farnell, Akine Fukai and Helen Glock. The pieces featured in the video are "So ys emprentid" by Walter Frye, "Tristitia Vestra" by Heinrich Isaac and "Hab Grossen Dank" by Ludwig Senfl. Watch out for two very different versions of "Tristitia Vestra", one performed on an early keyboard instrument called clavicytherium!
Fiona is currently studying for a second master’s degree specialising in Renaissance Music at Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in the class of Corina Marti. She plays the recorder and medieval keyboards in groups such as La Fiamma and L’Artiste. You can find all upcoming concerts, recordings and more videos on her website.
