This alto recorder is a Concerto model designed by English maker Time Cranmore.
The Concerto model was developed in response to the demand for a louder instrument able to compete on a concert platform with modern strings. The Stanesby bore, which is a wider bore than the German models, is physically able to contain a wider and more open voicing, with large chamfers giving effectively a greater length between the windway exit and labium. The instrument has also been lengthened slightly.
This recorder is made of blackwood and is supplied with a handmade blue roll case.
