Informative, yes. Useful? Hmm.

First published in 1974, this short (16 pages) work is a pleasant read, with some interesting information about the bass, great bass and related instruments. There is a small amount of practical advice about fingering and holding the instrument, useful to those already familiar with lighter recorders, but it is not a tutor. As a supplement to Bloodworth, The Bass Recorder Handbook, it is worth your attention, but Bloodworth is better on detail, in my (not very well informed) opinion.
