Triebert Bass Recorder in Matt Black Finish

3 reviews
£166.25 excluding VAT (UK Export Price)

The Triebert plastic recorder range are top quality instruments which deliver a rich body of sound, while providing the convenience of durable, maintenance-free resin. They have conventional baroque fingering, a typically easy response and excellent intonation. The bass has double keys F/F# and a knick head joint making it easy for players with a smaller than average hand stretch. All bass recorders have curved windways and are supplied in an attractive leatherette case with joint grease, sling, fingering chart and cleaning pull-through.

Triebert Bass Recorder,

On the whole, I have enjoyed using my Triebert bass recorder. It is my first experience of using a bass recorder but I found the holes well spaced and the keyed notes easy to operate once I discovered the right finger position. The instrument has a good tone, richer than I expected from a plastic recorder. The fingering chart which came with the instrument was for descant and treble. Using that, E flat out of tune. The Early Music Shop kindly sent me a Yamaha bass recorder chart and that E flat fingering works fine. Overall, a good instrument, and a lot of fun to play!

So thankful I purchased the Triebert Bass recorder as it has brightened my time spent at home. As an intermediate alto player it was the natural next step to try something new and and as a beginner the price & ease of playing make it a good decision. I have small hands, geriatric arthritis & need the alto with the key for low F and have had no problem with this bass. The sound is good too.

The Triebert Bass Recorder offers a reasonably good instrument for a reasonable price, even so I took advantage of the EMS sale and got mine for just under £160. It plays well and in tune, I was able to play up to a twelfth and was pleased with its sound. It looks very smart although there are a few blemishes here and there. Another criticism is that the sling that comes with it is nowhere near long enough, even if you let it out to the maximum extent and the fingering chart includes descant down to tenor but not bass. So are we expected to transpose up an octave and use the treble? Apart from these, I am very happy with this instrument and would recommend it to anyone wanting their first bass recorder.
