Comments from Shigeharu Hirao and Hiroyuki Takeyama

Recorders have undergone many improvements over a long period of time since the Renaissance, through the Baroque era, when they attained their present form. Baroque original instruments, including and represented by Bressan's, are regarded as the most exquisite intruments even today and that is our opinion too. This means that for this model G-1A, how faithfully we reproduce the original is the key aim. In order to acheive this aim, the degree of perfection and integrity of the original recorder that we based its design on are the vital factors - above all, it has to have a stable sound.

We believe that this newly developed G-1A is the best modern Bressan model that we can hope for, with all our experience and knowledge poured into it.

Bressan Alto Recorder made of plastic

This is the best sounding ABS-resin flute I ever played. It looks more nicely with details and it feels good like a wooden recorder. I first bought the Soprano Stanesby Junior. I love that one to. It’s more neetier(perfect for small hands) I wanted to wright my own opinion and don’t follow any others. Just my own experiences!! *Its shorter than the other ones. *The register works well both high and low. *It’s a easier alto flute for the young ones with short fingers. *I like the doubble holes pretty much. *I will recomend this recorder for befinners and pro’s.

Zen-On G1A Bressan Alto Recorder

This recorder has a good sound, good tuning and very good articulation response. Their sound has a tendency to be open and projecting. The high and middle registers sound excellent and their sound is reminiscent of wood. The low register has not been as round and deep as I expected. Although I have not tried them, those who are looking for a more collected, dense or deep sound in the low register should also try some model of yamaha alto flute

Stiff joints

I enjoyed playing the instrument. It produced a good full tone. But I had issues with the large joint. I could not pull it apart after playing. I greased the joint and also put it in the fridge (cold plastic shrinks?) but nothing made it easier to take apart. This is partly due to the fact that my hands have very little strength, but I have not experienced this problem with any of my other recorders, both plastic and wooden.

Quality at a great price!

The usual fast and efficient service from ems, I bought this item after weighing up up all the options ( there are many!) for plastic alto/ treble recorders.  Of importance to me have been a number of extremely good reviews of the Zen-On Bressan alto including such folk as the brilliant Sarah Jeffrey.  Another point was the fact that they also do the exact same model in 415’ pitch, which is a real bonus. So how does it play? Great, the quality of manufacturing is excellent which has produced a nice free-blowing recorder with a nice depth of tone that allows for plenty of expression, for a plastic recorder.  I can’t fault this recorder, it’s quality at a really good price. I love that the 415 companion instrument is also available and I’ll be back for that one pretty soon!

Good buy

Nice sound and notes speak clearly. A bit more than the Yamaha eco dear but not expensive. Nice to have several plastic recorders so can change about.
